Hapag-Lloyd Announces GRI for Asia-America Cargo

Hapag-Lloyd Announces General Rate Increase (GRI) for Asia to West Coast South America, Mexico, Central America, and Caribbean Cargo.

Effective November 1, German shipping line Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) of US$2,000 per 20-foot and 40-foot dry container on cargo shipments from Asia to the West Coast of South America, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The increase applies to all shipments, including high cube containers and 40-foot non-operative reefers.

The GRI will remain in effect until further notice and covers shipments originating from various Asian countries, including China, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, and Brunei.

The increase applies to destinations on the West Coast of South America, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, covering countries such as Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
