ZIM has unveiled an upward revision in rates for shipping routes originating from the West Mediterranean ports to destinations across the United States East Coast, Gulf, Canada, and Mexico.
The decision, disclosed through ZIM’s Tariff update on December 21st, is scheduled to take effect from January 20th, 2024. Under this adjustment, rates for 20’ containers will rise to US$450, while 40’ dry containers will see an increase to US$950.

In response to recent shifts in the market landscape and the resultant impact on its operational network – leading to schedule modifications and equipment shortages within its service areas – ZIM, the Israeli ocean carrier, has announced a rate modification for shipments originating from all East Mediterranean and Black Sea ports (excluding Israel). This rate adjustment, detailed in their Tariff release on December 21st, 2023, is slated to come into force on January 20th, 2024.
For dry cargo shipments from East Mediterranean and Black Sea ports bound for USEC, Gulf, Canada, and Mexico ports, a new rate of US$1,000 per TEU will be implemented. These adjustments reflect ZIM’s proactive response to market dynamics and operational constraints experienced within its service regions.
