Wan Hai Lines, a prominent Taiwanese ocean carrier, is set to revitalize its Asia-Pacific Service (AP1), aiming to bolster its network along the US West Coast. This strategic enhancement sees the AP1 service taking over from the erstwhile AA3 service, with the collaborative effort alongside Ocean Network Express (ONE).

Under this partnership, Wan Hai Lines commits five vessels to the service, complemented by an additional two container ships provided by ONE, the Singapore-based shipping line also announcing this service. These vessels boast a nominal capacity of 13,000 TEUs each, poised to significantly boost the service’s capacity.

Scheduled to embark on its inaugural voyage from Haiphong, Vietnam, towards the end of April or early May 2024, the AP1 service is designed around a consistent 56-day round trip schedule. This ensures regular and reliable connections for businesses reliant on the Asia-US trade lane.

The service will cover an extensive port rotation, starting from Haiphong (Vietnam), moving through Cai Mep (Vietnam), Shekou (China), Xiamen (China), Taipei (China), Ningbo (China), Shanghai (China), and then crossing over to Los Angeles (US) and Oakland (US), before making its return journey via Shekou to Haiphong.

This revamped service by Wan Hai and ONE signifies a significant step forward in connecting Asia with the US West Coast, offering enhanced efficiency and capacity for shippers navigating the trans-Pacific trade routes.
